You didn't know Swedish Fish make great martini garnish. They do!

I wanted to start this blog talking about how beat reporting is a lot like being a pickup artist. Instead of trying to seduce, the journalist is after the quote that will make his story. The heart races just the same while siddling up to a complete stranger hoping to build a little rapport, get in, then get out before deadline.

I was gonna write about all that, but instead I have to talk about the awesome party I just attended at Dylan’s Candy Bar for the launch of a new Swedish Fish advertising campaign.

Turns out the best friends are the ones you can eat, at least according to the new Swedish Fish tagline. I had no idea you could do so much with Swedish Fish besides using them for checkers and singing them songs like I already do. You can make Swedish Fish sushi with rice and sour wraps instead of seaweed. They also go well in place of your olives or pearl onions in a blue “fishbowl martini.”

I made sure to take lots of pictures of the festivities and a few even did me the favor of turning out well!On the way out, I was given a goodie bag with a tagline yellow t-shirt, a beach towel with a fish and a Swedish Fish-monogrammed geek stick (thumb drive). Thanks Swedish fish, not only for a great party, now I also know I don’t need to feel guilty for biting your heads off.
